In Year 4, we are going to study a variety of exciting topics throughout the year such as ‘Living Planet’, ‘Passport to Europe’, ‘Rotten Romans’ and many more. Each of our half-termly topics will underpin the learning that is carried out throughout the curriculum in Maths, English, Science and all of our foundation subjects. As well as the learning that will take place in the classroom, we will be going on several exciting trips throughout the year.

Alongside our academic skills, we will also be taking time to reflect and develop our emotional skills. Particularly in PSHE, we will be looking at how we can maintain healthy relationships, celebrate our achievements and stay safe.

Please don’t hesitate to come and see me at any time, whether you’d like to pop in for a chat or just so I can introduce myself!

PE DAYS: Tuesday & Wednesday

Notices

We expect Year 4 children to read at least 3 times a week with an adult. Ideally, this reading should focus on checking the children’s understanding of the text they are reading and include a chat about their opinions and predictions.

Spellings will be taken home weekly in homework books and children will be tested on these on Wednesdays. Please can children make sure that homework books are back in school on Wednesday so they can receive their spellings for the next week!
