SCHOOL UNIFORM

We are very proud of the appearance of all children at Wycliffe CE Primary School. It is our policy that children wear school uniform every day, and we would appreciate your cooperation in this. It is designed to be simple and practical and, above all, gives children a sense of belonging to the school. We also feel that wearing the school uniform encourages a pride in personal appearance.

Uniforms can be purchased from Natasha Schoolwear or Whitakers Schoolwear. School book bags can be purchased at the school office.

SCHOOL UNIFORM FOR BOYS & GIRLS

  • Black/grey trousers, shorts, skirts or pinafore dresses.
  • White polo shirts.
  • Jade sweatshirt/jumper with/ without school logo.
  • Green and white summer dresses.
  • Sensible BLACK flat shoes – NOT trainers, slip ons or flip flops.
  • On wet days, it would be helpful if your child has a pair of indoor shoes to change into to prevent the floors getting wet and slippery. Black pumps are ideal.

PE

Children to come to school on their PE days in their kit.

  • Jade sweatshirt/jumper with/ without school logo.
  • Black tracksuit bottoms, black shorts/tracksuit bottoms or black leggings.
  • Coloured t-shirt in house colour.

– Northcliffe Wood – White

– Hirst Wood – Blue

– Heaton Wood – Green

– St Ives Wood – Red

  • Pumps/trainers

Apart from when in Year 6 and purchasing leavers’ hoodies, hooded tops are not permitted. These cause accidents when some children pull each other’s hoods.

OUTDOOR PLAY IN RECEPTION

  • Waterproofs
  • Extra socks
  • Wellies

OTHER INFORMATION

Please ensure that children ALWAYS have a waterproof coat in school with them. We aim to facilitate outdoor play whenever possible, even if the weather is slightly damp or cold so children need to be appropriately dressed. Please ensure that ALL items of clothing are named. We encourage children to take responsibility for the own possessions. Any lost items will be placed in the lost property, which will be brought out on the Key Stage Two playground on a half termly basis so that parents and children can reclaim any lost items.

APPEARANCE

We encourage children to take pride in their personal appearance and have regard for standards of personal hygiene.

  • Full school uniform must be worn daily (even on PE days).
  • All children’s hair should be neat and not restrict vision. Coloured hair bands should be restricted to dark colours. Long hair must be tied back at all times for health and safety reasons.
  • No jewellery of any description may be worn in school, except small studs in the lobe of the ear. It is expected that children will remove studs for PE or will bring surgical tape to cover them.
  • Watches may be worn, but are the responsibility of the wearer, and must be removed for all PE and games activities.
  • Nail varnish and make-up is not permitted.
