This is the start of your child’s exciting journey into Key Stage 2, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of it. I am really looking forward to helping your child grow—both academically and personally—as we explore all the new and exciting learning opportunities together.

There is a noticeable step up from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, but by working together as a team, we can make this transition smooth and successful. To support your child through this change, we encourage regular learning at home, particularly daily reading and completing our creative half-termly homework projects. Any support you can offer with learning times tables and weekly spellings is incredibly valuable. Your encouragement makes a real difference!

Please ensure that reading books and reading records are brought into school daily. These are essential communication tools, and we love hearing all about the books your child is enjoying at home.

Each term, our learning will be centred around a “big question” that links to all areas of the curriculum, including Maths, English, Science, and our foundation subjects. Alongside our academic focus, we also place great importance on helping children develop emotional awareness and self-regulation skills. We aim to help every child grow not only as a learner but as a kind, confident, and resilient individual.

I’m delighted to be teaching Year 3 and to be joining the Wycliffe team. I can’t wait to see what this year brings!
