Welcome to Cherry class! Your child is moving up to KS2, and I am so excited for the learning journey we’re going to go on. The jump from year two to year three is a real step for your child, but together as a team, we can make it an easy one. To do this, please support your child with their learning at home. Daily reading, completing a creative half termly homework projects, learning times tables and weekly spellings are tremendously important to helping your child thrive in school. Your encouragement and support is invaluable. Bringing in reading books and reading records to school daily is crucial. This is an important communication tool between home and school and we love hearing about all the fantastic things that you are reading together at home!
Each of our termly topics will have a big question and this will underpin the learning that is carried out throughout the curriculum in Maths, English, Science and all of our foundation subjects. As well as our academic learning, we will have a big focus on developing the children’s emotional skills to enable them to manage their relationships with others and their own well-being.
I am thrilled to be teaching year 3, and cannot wait for the year ahead!
